Blockboard is a man-made product similar to plywood, with a core made of softwood strips. Blockboard is made of solid wood blocks, which are then sandwiched in layers of wood veneer using various types of chemicals and bonded together under high pressure. It is superior to particleboard and medium-density fiberboard. Blockboard has good dimensional stability (even when exposed to moisture) and is highly resistant to warping or twisting.
