In northern and central my country, poplar wood is widely used in rural housing construction. Its lightweight yet moderate strength makes it suitable for interior decoration and formwork, making it ideal for beams, timber frames, purlins, rafters, and ceilings. Poplar lumber is also commonly used in interior decoration, such as wall coverings and flooring, and can be used as formwork in construction.

【Pulping and Papermaking】 Poplar wood, with its pure white color, low resin content, and good bleaching properties, is an ideal raw material for wood pulp production. The resulting pulp not only has a high yield but also exhibits excellent strength and bleaching properties, suitable for both groundwood pulp and chemical pulp. Furthermore, poplar wood is suitable for producing paper with uniform texture and high strength. In my country, poplar wood is often blended with coniferous wood in pulping to produce high-strength industrial paper.

Medium-Density Fiberboard (MDF) Small-diameter timber, tops, branches, and processing waste from poplar trees can all be fully utilized to manufacture poplar MDF, poplar particleboard, and poplar blockboard. MDF is widely welcomed internationally due to its uniform density and mechanical properties close to those of wood. This type of engineered wood product uses wood fibers or other plant fibers as raw materials. After being crushed, separated, and dried, urea-formaldehyde resin or other suitable adhesives are applied, and the mixture is manufactured through a hot-pressing process. Its density ranges from 0.5 to 0.88 g/cm³. If the density is below 0.5, it is called fiberboard, while if it is above 0.88, it is called high-density fiberboard. In recent years, its production has continued to grow.

Particleboard, on the other hand, is made by cutting wood processing residues, small-diameter timber, and wood chips into fragments of specific sizes, drying them, and then mixing them with adhesives, hardeners, and waterproofing agents. These are then pressed under specific temperature and pressure. Blockboard, on the other hand, is made by gluing together pieces of solid wood and covering the surface with a layer of veneer or sanding it. It is often used as the base material for doors, console tables, and other similar products.
