1. The production process is different

Plywood is a three-layer or multi-layer board-like material made of wood segments that are rotary cut into veneer or cut into thin wood by wood planer, and then glued together with adhesive; MDF is a board made by separating wood or other plants into fibers, using the interweaving between fibers and their own inherent binders, or applying adhesives, under the condition of heating or pressurization.

2. Different product classifications

Plywood is divided into four categories according to its gluing strength: one is weather-resistant, boiling water resistant plywood. This type of plywood is durable, resistant to boiling or steam treatment, and can be used outdoors; The second type of plywood is water-resistant plywood, which can be impregnated in cold water and hot water for a short time; The third type of plywood is moisture-resistant plywood, which can be impregnated in cold water for a short time, and is suitable for indoor use at room temperature. for furniture and general construction purposes; The four types of plywood are not moisture-resistant plywood, which are used in indoor normal conditions, and the materials used for general purpose plywood are beech, basswood, ash, birch, elm, poplar, etc.

MDF is divided into three categories based on the size of its density: low-density board, medium-density board, and high-density board.

3. Distinction of performance and use

Plywood is mainly used in house construction, interior wall decoration and door panels, etc., and has the characteristics of light weight and good bending on the outer surface of the modeling, such as the curved place; MDF is mainly used in some fields such as furniture manufacturing, building materials, vehicle and ship manufacturing, packaging materials, etc. The surface of plywood is not as smooth and flat as the surface of MDF; Compared with MDF, the moisture content of plywood is more stable, and plywood has better moisture-proof performance than MDF, and plywood has stronger grip force than MDF.
